From Deb's Basket Table.... How does time go so fast? It is winter already and as I write this snow is falling and we're expected to get several inches. I do love snow and still hope for "snow days." The surprise of an unexpected day off with the excuse of being snowbound is always a treat! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!! Of course, since I love snow, I fell in love with the snowman that graces my "Snowman Door Basket." Sally Ben-hameda makes these and other adorable ceramic snowmen for your winter creations. The swing handle makes it easy to hang from a door. Genie Jackson's "Fancy Fruit" basket is a beautiful basket using several different techniques including one of my favorite round reed borders. This basket would be a great "teaching" basket, to teach yourself (or others!) some new weaving methods. Eva Snyder's "Tin Roof Birdhouse" is so cute and what a hint of spring! Even though it is snowing here, you can have a chance to weave this basket early and have some ready for spring shows or classes. My "Brown Twill Tote" is an attractive carryall that I made to recycle the strap from a favorite purse that had worn out. The twill is a basic over two/under two pattern, but changing where you begin each row makes the pattern zigzag up the side of the tote. My two "Countertop Collectables" are cute little baskets to set on any countertop or table and collect your family's important clutter. They have accents of randing and use wire handles from Hoosier Wire Works. I hope you enjoy these patterns - and any snow that comes your way! Deb |
