From Sheri's Studio ....

"School days, school days,
Good old-fashioned rule days...
Reading and writing and 'rithmatic...."

The first week back to school, my father would sing these words to our family. Now I have carried on this old tradition with my two children much to their dismay.

This issue greets the season with "fall" in the air.

My "White River Woodland Wonder" is a great exercise in twining and shaping with round reed and seagrass. A unique handle is wrapped in birch bark and accented with pine cones and pods collected from nature walks on the White River where my family owns a cabin.

The "Mini Pumpkin Basket" by Lorraine Justice

is the smallest of three sizes shown. An octagon wooden base starts out this sweet Autumn trio. Once you weave the "mini", you will want to weave the complete set.

"Rooster in the Hen House," by Julie Kleinrath is a large market carrying basket accented with a ceramic rooster and the hen on opposite sides with ceramic eggs all the way around. A wax linen chicken wire puts you in the "chicken coop."

The "Desk Organizer" also by Julie Kleinrath will definitely help with your fall cleaning. This divided wooden handled base is topped off with love - a heart cut out in the handle and is twill woven using spaced dyed reed.

My "Sweet Seagrass" is a great relaxation in weaving with round reed and seagrass which also tops off the handle and is accented with feathers.

"Sheri's Sunflower" features a Victorian D handleÓ with a double bottom to slide spokes in and wooden top piece to paint your design. A black Ash band compliments the yellow triple weave and is accented by wooden sunflowers painted by me.

Enjoy the back to school routine, bazaars, craft shows, and weaving this fall!

Happy Weaving!!
