Hello, friends! Fall is in the air and my "work year" is in full swing. When school starts, my days revolve around my girls' schedules and our church activities. I seem to spend as much time organizing our lives as I do driving everyone around. I'm sure your lives are much the same. In spite of all this busy-ness, I am determined to weave more this fall.

My "Four Corner Twill" is a great basket for teaching twill and introducing the concept of "changing directions." While not for beginning weavers, it is appropriate for intermediate weavers who are ready for the challenge of twill weaving. The dyed corner spokes make it easy to see where to change direction."

You will love Susan Reed-Fanfoni's "Snowy, the Bird Man." Susan's patterns are so creative and this pattern will delight all of you who love combining folk art with your basketweaving.

Carol Matteson's "Fancy Wine Tote" is perfect for fall. The harvest look of the bunch of grapes is a handsome touch to this classic basket. What a great Christmas gift!

My "Pretty Blue Basket" is a large bowl-shaped basket with a swing handle. The weavers are all three pieces of reed, which creates a beautiful effect. The wide ash strip provides ample room for painting; however, since I can't paint, I was able to use some larger paint rub-ons that I'd been saving.

I hope you enjoy the patterns in this issue!

Deb
